Our Impact in Action

In partnership with the charity Parkinson’s Care and Support UK, we delivered 8 weeks of funded massage treatments and yoga classes for people with Parkinson's residing in care homes including Barchester Wimbledon, Barchester Hampstead, Candlewood and Signature Hendon.

Impact was measured through resident evaluation surveys, showing meaningful improvements in wellbeing.

Why Wellbeing Matters

Holistic treatments, mindful movement, wellbeing classes, and engaging entertainment can make a real difference for residents living with health conditions such as Dementia, Parkinson’s, Stroke recovery and Limited Mobility. These sessions bring comfort, connection and improved quality of life into everyday care.

  • For Dementia (all stages): Activities that encourage relaxation, stimulate memory, reduce agitation and create moments of joy, calm, and familiarity.

  • For Parkinson’s: Sessions that support mobility, ease stiffness and promote relaxation, helping residents feel happier, more comfortable, and confident.

  • For Stroke recovery: Approaches that encourage coordination, rebuild strength, and boost motivation during rehabilitation.

  • For Limited Mobility: Adaptations that help maintain movement, nurture connection, and experiencing moments of joy regardless of physical ability.

Our carefully designed sessions reduce stress, ease loneliness and support social interaction, while giving residents the chance to engage in something meaningful.

With fully qualified, insured, DBS checked practitioners who are experienced in care settings, you can trust Maida Care to deliver safe, inclusive and uplifting experiences.

 About Me

Meet Charlotte

Hi, I’m Charlotte, Founder of Maida Care.

My journey began in business development, working for media companies such as The Walt Disney Company and All3Media. However, when my father (pictured) was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and my grandfather with Dementia, everything changed. I felt a profound calling to shift my path and dedicate my work to supporting others facing similar challenges.

This led me to train as a 500-hour advanced yoga teacher and 300-hour yoga therapist, studying at Frame London, Real Yoga Egham, and Tri Yoga London. Since 2017, I’ve specialised in leading accessible yoga for people living with health conditions such as Parkinson’s, Dementia, stroke recovery, and people with limited mobility.

Alongside yoga, I spent six years managing holistic therapies at Women and Health, a wellbeing charity in Camden. It is here that I witnessed firsthand the deep impact of holistic therapies on individuals’ quality of life.

I founded Maida Care to bring this powerful, holistic approach into care homes. I’m particularly passionate about creating meaningful experiences for people in the later stages of dementia, and have developed a unique offering of sensory, music-led live entertainment and wellbeing classes that are both engaging and therapeutic.

I’d love to hear from you! Get in touch to explore how Maida Care can support your community.
